You are required to be in possession of a current valid provisional driving licence. It is your responsibility to inform your instructor of any official changes to that document.
You will be required to pay in full for any lesson or test appointments that you cancel with less than 48 hours notice. This must be done by calling the instructor directly.
Your appointment card is your receipt for block lessons; you must sign for each lesson as it is taken.
We reserve the right to refuse the use of the instructors or schools car for practical tests if the instructor feels that you have not reached a satisfactory standard.
The minimum cost of the car for a practical test is £90, this includes pick up from home, 1 hour lesson before, 15 minutes final preparation time, time on test, debrief and drive home.
You (not the examiner) are responsible for the instructors/schools vehicle while you are taking your practical driving test. In the unlikely event of a road traffic accident you would be liable for any insurance excess (up to £250).
There is a £30 charge for any returned unpaid cheques.
Please note payments (Intensive and Block Bookings) must be made in advance of the training, any fees paid are not refundable in the event that you decide to cancel the training once the booking has been accepted by your Wests instructor. At this point a binding agreement is made between yourself and your instructor.
If you are late for a lesson, the lesson will still finish at the arranged time. Missed time cannot be reallocated, nor can the lesson price be reduced.
Children under the age of 15 are not allowed in the vehicle during lessons; it is at the discretion of the individual instructor to allow your friends or family in the back of the vehicle whilst on a driving lesson.
You must ensure that you are not under the influence of alcohol or drugs while attending a lesson – remember the night before. Please check labelling on all prescription/non- prescription drugs with regards to driving.
Any items left in car are not the responsibility of the school.
On the occasional lesson there may be another instructor or DVSA official observing your instructor. This is done for quality and assessment purposes.
The time period to complete blocks of lessons including vouchers and Intensive Courses must be completed within 3 months (12 weeks) of purchase.
